Well, I didn't get to bed untill about 10:30 and I paid for it by waking up at 5am again today. lol But Ashley was in my room and we were talking about our trip to the Central Market tomorrow. We were looking through my Lonely Planet guidebook, but couldn't figure out which bus. From somewhere I remembered that all the buses went downtown and I was right. We asked Gabi this morning and she told us to take the Sabanilla bus to the last spot and then walk up a hill and then we'll be there. Should be a fun adventure since we're not sure which stop is the last one...we'll see.
Last night before the host family got home Ashley was having chocolate withdrawls lol And I had been meaning to walk to the Mas x Menos store anyways to buy some snack food, so we went together. I got some oreos and some of those oat and honey bars I like (no protein bars there). Ashley got some cheap chocolate milk mix and these cookies called "Chiky's" She's fallen in love with them lol. (see picture) The Mas x Menos was pretty much a very tiny walmart. And if I'm not mistaken they're owned by the same company, because they were selling Great Value brand stuff and they had the same reusable bags for sale...and some other things.
Before Gabi got home Ashley and I were showing each other pictures from this past weekend. She went to a market on Saturday and had some fun pictures. Including one of Gabi with a machete. I got it from Ashley. It's a good one lol Right then Gabi walked into the house and into my room the doors are really close. She stayed for a while and chatted. It was one of the types of conversations that I could follow in Spanish without need of translation. It was very amusing. Gabi is like some boy crazy tween and Ashley for fun mentioned that she had seen a cute guy in the library 2 days in a row. So then Gabi was trying to give Ashley ideas on how to talk to him and such. It was was really funny. Ashley didn't realize the can of worms she was opening. Gabi was in my room for an hour! lol
This morning the bus was a bit later than usual, but I still had time to run up to Mrs. Polchow's apartment. We had to pay for the trip together. (The Zipline on Saturday!) In Comp class we talked about direct and indirect objects. We played a game outside. Our professor gave us several cards with pictures on them and we went around the circle "buying" "selling" and "trading" our cards using the DO and IO pronouns.
In Conversation class we watched another movie...Bordertown...not something I plan on ever watching again. It was about women factory workers in Juarez being raped and murdered. Based on true events. Terrible stuff....and now I have to give a 5 minutes presentation on something related to it...
Currently I'm in the mall, but the internet just died so I think I might go to that place again and get a milkshake later this afternoon and work on my presenation. But before that I'm going to try and find that University store that has cheap UCR gear. lol And after that I'm going to find a pharmacy to see if they have earplugs (Mas x Menos didn't have any). Well, see yout later!
:-) Rek
